Animal Histology Services (AHS)

Regrettably, Comparative Medicine’s Animal Histology Services (AHS) will be closing effective May 13, 2022.

AHS will not accept histology projects effective immediately to allow for completing orders and projects already in the pipeline.

We encourage all investigators to pursue alternate services.

Histo-Tec Laboratory is one of the regional histology providers that AHS has collaborated with previously.

The contact information for Histo-Tec is:

Histo-Tec will continue to pick up and drop off at the Edwards Building, 3rd floor.

NOTE:

  • Individual laboratories and investigators will be responsible for establishing their own purchase orders (POs), billing, and pick-up/drop-off arrangements with external services.
  • For necropsy projects submitted through the Veterinary Service Center (VSC) Necropsy Service, the VSC will manage the logistics of initial histology orders specific to those projects through Histo-Tec Laboratories. Subsequent orders (e.g., additional stains, additional sections, IHC, etc.) will need to be processed by the investigators.
      • Investigators wishing to use a service different from Histo-Tec will be responsible for processing all orders (including the initial histology for submissions through the Necropsy service).
